About me
I work on the messy parts of organizations.
The places where good people are stuck in bad systems, where teams have learned to work around problems instead of solving them, and where adding another process somehow seems like the obvious answer.
Â
My approach is pretty simple: understand what is actually happening, question the assumptions underneath it, and help people build something that works better. I care about organization success, however I start with people, because organizations don't change themselves.
Â
Over the years, I've worked with engineers, managers, product people, and leaders on everything from quality strategy and organizational change to career development, team dynamics, incident management, and sustainable delivery. I've built academies, career frameworks and operating practices; helped teams move away from firefighting; and worked across organizational boundaries to make quality and ownership something shared rather than delegated to a particular department.
Â
These days, I'm particularly interested in the space between people, systems, and outcomes: how organizations learn, how decisions get made, how feedback travels, and how you build enough structure to help people succeed without burying them in process.
Â
I don't believe every problem needs a transformation programme. Sometimes the answer is removing something. Sometimes it's changing a conversation. Sometimes it's making a decision nobody has wanted to make.
Â
And ideally, whatever I help build should eventually need me less, not more.
